Dr Mark Cherny established the Caulfield Eye Clinic in 1994 and it has grown to be one of the largest private ophthalmic centres in Victoria, with an emphasis on quality and personalised care.
The clinic opened in August 1994, aiming to assist local general practitioners and optometrists to care for their patients by providing readily available and quality specialist ophthalmological services.

The clinic grew as new doctors joined the practice , and new equipment and services were added.
In May 1998 the clinic moved to 961 Glenhuntly Road as part of the new Melbourne Specialist Centre, a  multidisciplinary specialist medical centre.

Today Caulfield Eye Clinic is one of the largest private eye clinics in Victoria, providing cataract surgery (on site), glaucoma surgery, Excimer laser/refractive surgery,YAG laser treatments, lase retinal treatments, computerized visual field testing, diabetic eye care, and acute and emergency eye care services.
Each ophthalmologist is a fully qualified specialist and has a sub-specialty interest in one or more additional areas of ophthalmology.
