Dr Cherny has been involved in laser eyesight correction surgery since it was first performed in Australia in 1991. In 1992 Dr Cherny became the first Australian eye trainee to spend his advanced training year in the field of laser eyesight correction , and he is now a director of Victoria’s first laser vision centre.

In almost 20 years the clinic has helped 1000’s of people from all over Melbourne achieve improved vision without glasses. Many have also attended the clinic from all Australian State, and even from international locations.

Dr Cherny’s approach is to PERSONALLY assess and council every patient attending his centre, and to PERSONALLY see EVERY patient on EVERY visit.

In addition, patients are provided with Dr Chernys mobile and home phone numbers so they can contact him virtually ANY time if they have ANY concerns.

The Eye Laser Clinic of Victoria has a wealth of experience in helping people over age 40 regain their ability to read books, text messages and documents without glasses. It is natural to lose near vision in this age group. Dr Cherny commonly uses Lasik with Monovision to restore near vision. Monovision places one eye in near focus, and the other eye into distance focus.

Wanting a second opinion?

Many of the patients that we see have already looked into laser eye sight correction and come along wanting a second opinion. We usually find that there is additional information and insights that we can give which our patients find helpful. In some instances, we have been able to find that only one eye needs correction instead of two that have been previously advised.
